Ok, Paula might be a chick, but I still like the porn-dude better. There are elements of schadenfreude with regards to her being sick. I'm not very fond of Paula, now or in the flashbacks.
I love the lady who teaches them about the halos. Heehee! She reminds me of Broomhilda from Men in Tights. Every show needs a stern matronly type...
Aww, poor AJ.
Haha! The 'halo secure' thing is silly, but adorable. Yay! And still, I love that Jen and Zoe are friends. However, it's sad that all they talk about is guys. However, as they do talk about guys, how does Jen figure that they're both completely rewound when she opened the entire conversation by pondering if it was even at all possible...
Uh. I'm sure something happened in this scene, but I was distracted by Jen in a sports bra. *guh* Gonna have to go back and watch this again... uhm. You know. Forthe articles the plot.
I haven't voluntarily watched this much man-woman-flirting on TV since forever. It's weird. It's kinda like how I'd imagine a boy!crazy teenaged girl would feel if she was forced to watch nothing but The L Word.
And I like how they're friends with Nadia back then. What happened? I'm gonna work from the theory that Jen and Zoe are still friendly with Nadia, but since they work in different places they just haven't gotten around to showing it.
"It seems the lander has made up its mind. It wants to kill us." Funniest thing Donner has said so far on this show. Heehee!
"Then you won't mind if I switch teams for a while?" Even knowing this is a contest, is it sad or awesome that my first thought was 'ooooh, does Nadia usually play for the affections of women?' Also, yay Nadia in a bra! She's hot!
I like AJ. I hope they keep up with him on the show even if he's going to be in research.
The Zoe/Donner thing alternately bores and annoys me. *sigh*
I really like Nadia! "Is it me, or is everybody on this ship crazy?"
And truly, Zoe, you still haven't figured out that you're the only one who hears the baby cry?
Awww... I don't know which is worse. Rollie having to watch his wife comfort another man, or Jen getting rejected when she tries to.
Damn. So the Ted/Jen thing wasn't happening in space. Which I could have figured out from the colors of their suits, but still. Sadness. However, all the more to ship them now! Yay! Also, the bushes were amusing, and it disappointed me that Rollie wasn't hiding in them, watching.
Ooooh... I love Rollie yelling at Ted and Ted accepting it and getting his act together, because they're BFFs too. Don't entirely get that thing about betrayal, though, but I guess we'll find out.
So considering the fact that AJ and Rollie have the exact same apartments, I guess they're some sort of crew quarters.
And I love them bringing Claire into it. Although it does make me a little sad that Claire is such a part of the group in the flashbacks, but now she spends all her time in front of the computer monitoring them, but never talking to them. If I hadn't gone into this with a focus on Jen because of Christina, Eve and Claire would probably have been my favourite characters. They're being intelligent and powerful and doing mission stuff. Jen and Zoe are out in space, but all they can talk about is boys.
And the genome thing is really interesting. Although as it read on Claire's computer screen, they're all turning into clones of Eve Shaw. Hehe.
The flashbacks are amusing enough, although I have to admit there's a little too much focus on the personal stuff. I like a procedural of some sort, where the personal stuff is a footnote, a tiny little moment every episode that you treasure. Here it gets too be a little too much. (Same problem I had with ER and other shows that try to mix it up too much. They never have been my favourites.)
And I gotta say, that thing Christina said about this episode being lighter and funnier before we get to the dark and secretive stuff next week? This week was pretty darn dark and secretive. But I guess I'll approve, because if it's dark and secretive, then there's less time for man-woman-awkward-flirting. And I hate to be that lesbian, because truly I am not man-hating, nor straight-people hating, but I just don't understand it. Attraction to the opposite sex is one of those things, much like shopping and vandalism, that I accept as being true for many people, but I cannot find it in me to wrap my head around how it works. Which doesn't mean I believe in discriminating against heterosexuals, depriving them of their rights, or being generally unkind to them. I just don't get it, but I accept its existence.

Zoe's cute blonde wispy hair is so cute! I love her character! I think the reason she keeps looking around when the baby cries is that it seems so loud and real to her it's still kind of weird that no one else hears it.
The one thing I don't care for is Donner's voiceovers. Seriously, couldn't those be done by everyone??
Other than that I can't wait to delve deeper next week.

It's interesting. I think Zoe/Donner is the most boring ship ever. It's so clichéd. Like Nadia said 'wounded good girl act' meets, like Jen said 'sexy tragic dude'. Erg. I'm much more interested in Jen/Ted (and I don't *think* it's only because of Christina, but of course I can't be certain), because there seems to be passion there, and that's far more interesting to me than furtive glances and angsty dreams.
I guess I'm just not that into Zoe. Laura is a great actress, and I care about her character, much like you care about a friend's little sister that you don't really have anything in common with, but I honestly am not that into her storyline.
Yes, also very much looking forward to next week! Yay!!

Did you watch Men in Trees? Because the actor who plays Rollie played the sweetest guy on there too. His and Jane's was definitely the most interesting relationship on that show.

Dead Like Me with Laura Harris. She played George's
boss. Terrific character actress. ( There's a full circle
for you.) Also, did the waitress in the bar give Zoe a little chuck under the chin as if she knew her or was
flirting? The bar scene was funny, and I enjoyed seeing
Claire with the girl's. Paula Puke really needs to chill.
I'll just throw this out here.. is it possible Beta has
given them all the same DNA srains so maybe Eve or whomever
can travel back and forth in some way? Otherwise why would
Eve need to be identical? Or are they all Beta?
