what may or may not be hard reality

Honestly? My favourite part was her comment about her guns. "My house is the safest place in Miami. Do you know how many guns I have?" Now, me personally, I oppose guns. I believe in super-strict gun control laws, and that in general, nobody should ever be allowed to have a gun. However, there is something very hot about gorgeous women who know their way around weapons and can kick ass. Lara Croft, Calleigh, Xena, etc. And so it pleases me that Calleigh would have lots and lots of them at home in her personal collection. It goes perfectly with my fic I wrote a long time ago, back in the early seasons when she was still living in an apartment in one of the high rises downtown, and had several gun safes in her bedroom. She has since moved to a little one-story house with a tiny yard that has flowers that she doesn't take much care of (no pool), but she still has her gun safes in the bedroom. In my head.

Also in my head she doesn't cook. Shame about that. Delko has always been the cook in my head.

His comments about how danger was following him around was a bit on the overly melodramatic side, but eh, whatever, Delko can be like that when he's in one of his moods.

And that kisses were cute. Cute and appropriate, and pretty much in character. Calleigh was a little too happy, perhaps, both in the visiting scene and then outside. I remember early!seasons Calleigh, when she was always smiling really really brightly, but for some reason I and lots of other people kept writing fic where she was kinda broken on the inside. She's not quite as broken any longer. Perhaps a little more human, a little older and more mature. Hmm. (Of course, this was back in the day when her official bio had stuff like child abuse and both her parents being alcoholics and really poor and running away and Duquesne not being her dad's name because she took her mother's maiden name when she left home because her dad used to hit her, which they've since disregarded or downplayed.)

And it's interesting to take Emily's comment about how they've been in a relationship ever since he took her home after the kidnapping. That puts a different spin on this entire season, and makes it rather interesting. Also, I have a weak spot for relationships where people sleep together but fail to communicate about it.

Other than that I really didn't pay much attention. Calleigh was really pretty in her scenes. Natalia was pretty too, but her hair was darker or something, which wasn't unpleasant, just different, and she'd lost a bit of that lovely caramel coloring. And I'm sure there was a case, or something, but uh... whatever. Sorry, Sean Combs.
