Is it just me or is this show getting straighter by the episode?? I mean, sure, for a bit there it was cute how they were all teasing Lindsay about her non-existent love life, but come on! It's been 4 episodes now! Give it a rest. I'm surprised the woman hasn't tossed the lot of you into the bay!
Speaking of the bay, this is totally not the San Francisco I've imagined through Kate Martinelli's eyes. It's too bright, and too LA-like. Anyone here who has actually been to SF? Is it like that. And I was disappointed in the Hall of Justice, too.
She's such an über character, is Lindsay Boxer. 'Cept for the name. No über-writer worth her name would name her 'tall, dark, and glaring' *Lindsay*. Not that there's anything wrong with the name, it's just that it brings to mind, you know, junkie anorexic paparazzi starlets... And what kind of a last name is 'Boxer'? But other than that, she's tall, she's dark, she's broody, she glares, she has a tendency to play 'bad cop', she's 'one of the guys', she has a wicked sense of humour, and a brilliant smile she bestows upon those worthy enough. Basically, she could have stepped right out of any cop-über story I've ever read (and I've read PLENTY). If it wasn't for that straight thing. But considering how she's totally not into Tom any longer (really, please, please), and seems uninterested in going on new dates (please please keep that up), there's plenty of room to make her gay (please please please). She could start by hanging out with women who aren't little girls. I like the medical examiner, but the other two, whatever. Kids. (Or is that just me projecting the fact that I'm getting to an age where I should be doing something with my life and I haven't, so therefore it bothers me to see people who have? Scary thought...)
I'm pretty sure I had other thoughts about the episode as well, but now all I remember is this:
Quote of the Episode:
Lindsay: "You are not gonna shoot her, or anybody else today. You see? I was counting. I do this for a living, and I gotta tell you, I hate amateurs."
Followed by Lindsay tackling the guy into the pond, hand-cuffing him under water, and looking a delicious cross between pissed off and smug about it. I didn't notice much of this until the second time I watched the scene, though, the first time I was too distracted by the wet!Angie Harmon thing going on... yum.
All in all, I don't know how much longer I'll have the energy to stick with this show. If they keep up the stupid banter, and all the pestering her about getting a boyfriend, I'm gonna be out of here pretty soon. Which is a shame, Angie Harmon is really hot, and a great actress with comedic streak that I kinda missed throughout her Law & Order years.
Anyone know where I might be able to find Baywatch Nights?
