I love Laurie King:
"The final stages of the edit process are the time for ruthlessness. Pens and cigarettes are snatched out of the hands of fiddlers, heads remain unscratched, looks and gazes and pauses remain unexchanged, falling like dominos to the all-clearing editorial pencil SO THE BLOODY CHARACTERS CAN GET ON WITH IT, ALREADY!"
~ Laurie King's blog - Touchstone copyedit (4)
Now go read the entire lovely thing!
Also, does anyone here watch Without a Trace? I used to, for the first two or three seasons, but then it changed time slots on me and it became a nuisance to catch it, and also, I was getting a wee bit tired of Jack Malone and his Horatio-esque antics. Anyway, I was wondering what pairings ever were canon? I've come across Sam/'any other male agent'-fic, but I have no idea which ones are just fic, and which ones are based in canon. By the time I left I think they were hinting at something between her and Martin, but I didn't stick around to find out. So does anyone happen to know?

nothing to see here
Laurie's Touchstone will be released December 26 (who in the world decided on that ridiculous date??). But nonetheless, I'll take it.
Also Melissa Etheridge's new album is due out end of September. I have it pre-ordered at Amazon.
It has been a long wait for both releases and I am feelin' happy !!!!!
nothing to see here
But I too have pre-ordered Melissa's new album off Amazon! Yay! Of course the delivery estimate of October 11, 2007 - November 19, 2007 is driving me just a wee bit crazy, but I'll live. On the one hand it feels like forever, and on the other hand most of the things this fall that I don't much look forward too will have happened by then and it's not *that* far away, after all!
