That's a really dumb title... I mean, considering they actually have a character named Eve. (And yeah yeah, I get how it kinda works, but I don't need *more* religious overtones on this show...
Lineararly polarized? Means it's focused on Peru? I don't remember much of high school physics, but I'm pretty sure something that's polarized means it's a wave traveling in only one plane, not in one direction. But is that where the linear comes in?
I hate Donner's V.O.s. He cuts in at the most annoying times.
Quit it with the lame-o 'Big Awesome Epic Thing Happening' music... it sounds like the end of a movie, not the opening of a tv show.
Beta is kinda lame, isn't it?
Oooooh, Jen totally can't see it. That's so awesome. And sad. Dude. But she can still see the light it emits, just not the actual Beta? That's kinda weird.
I gotta read up on whatever the heck fractals are about. Like really? I mean it sounds scientific and all that, but I'd kinda like a physics nerd to explain it to me how it really works.
And wait, Jen can't see Beta, but she can see the light it sends out? That's kinda weird-ass.
"Tomatoes don't grow in fractal patterns." Spot-on observation there, Evram. Yeah. They don't. Does that mean they're gonna abandon the whole science-fact angle and just assume that Beta can do whatever the hell Beta wants? (Like create gravity in the kitchen for food items.)
And they're gonna be collecting them? Cool! You know, I've been sort of sceptical about whatever odd purpose it is Beta has been directing, but I'll buy that. They're gonna go out in space and collect Beta's friends.
"[bla bla my opinion is the only one you need to worry about]" I like Eve. Yeah. She has the power. And she knows it too.
I have a bit of an issue with forced exposition. They couldn't have told us Eve's story gradually??? I mean, we all knew from the first episode that there was more to her than met the eye.
Yadda yadda yadda.
Eve is pretty in her long braids!
Yadda yadda yadda.
Ooooh, like that music Beta is emitting to Eve. It's pretty.
Yadda yadda yadda. I can't believe the crew members and mission control haven't fallen asleep by now.
Oh, NICE. With Eve's reference about feeling totally and utterly alone, and then they cut to Jen. Works well for my Sekrit Jen/Eve Ship.
Yadda yadda...
Awwww, poor Eve! "If you're trying to frighten me, it's working."
Seriously... that's an effin' long-ass exposition sequence.
"Most sublime..." Poor Jen.
I love how Nadia looks totally sceptical of the idea of them talking to each other... :P
"Yes, that's the primary goal of this mission." Hehe. Awesome.
"It chose you."
"I don't feel chosen"
Love the little conversation between Jen and Rollie... she totally needs to tell him (or Zoe) about the fact that she can't see it, though!
Oooh, for the first time Paula said something I can really really get behind. "The more I learn about the universe, the stronger my faith becomes." My mother is a biology professor who's also done a lot of research in her career, and that's how she raised me to be a Christian (Protestant). Science is Truth, but the deeper you dig the harder it is to believe there is not a good force guiding it somewhere, not bending the laws of nature, necessarily, but guiding it along in accordance to the laws of nature. Kinda. And I like that Paula thinks the same way. (Although she's *way* more religious than we are... way way more. We're like moderately liberal who happen to be Christians for cultural reasons.)
"I kept thinking about my dream. Our dream."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
...
"That's messed up."
Man, he stole my line!
"It's not what I came up here to do."
Oh crap. "Those that hear the trumpets shall be saved, those who don't shall be damned." Don't believe it, Jen!!!
Haha! That annoying dude who talks to AJ thinks the whole Beta thing sucks.
Awwwww. AJ/Donner for the win!! "We're gonna need each other more than ever..."
"I'm done hiding things." I sure hope so, Eve... (but family in Italy? That's what he thinks to accuse her of?)
Erg. That kid doesn't looks like she really knows how to play the violin... Or is it just bad looping?
It's gotta be Jen's hallucination, right? That she can't see Beta?
"All my sins are forgiven. I have no guilt" Bwahahahaha.
"Give her some space." No!! Zoe!! Go after her!!
MORON! DON'T TALK TO THE PRESS!
Awww... "I expected her to handle it differently..." Really, Zoe, you've given this some thought?
At least she can see the tomatoes.
Heh. Cut those tomatoes DOWN!
Go Nadia!! Tertiary sites!!! (Though the notion of programmers being lazy... yes and no. Kinda depends on the programmer... alternately they make everything 15 times more difficult just because they can...)
"Apparently Jen's lost it!"
I love how they're just standing there staring with their mouths open looking stupid. Really, they wanna lose all their water?? It's a good explanation. Wonder if it's true.
Yes. Evram dropping the tomatoes in a bowl. How come food responds to gravity in the kitchen, but not in the lab??
Awwww... Eve playing the violin to the moon... pretty!
Liar!! Don't lie to Zoe about seeing Beta! Tell her!!
Oooh, liked all the Jen stuff in this ep!! Finally we're getting to see some of that Jen-messed-up-ed-ness that Christina talked about way back when. Interesting!
Loved learning more about Eve (even if the format was annoying!)!!
To Beta...

Or not to Beta...

Aww, Zoe/Jen!

Jen, all alone... poor thing.

Kinda cheesy, but still kinda awesome.

Don't lie to her!!
